  • Aquamarine is a blue variety of Beryl that crystallises in hexagonal columns. 
  • The blue colour in Aquamarine comes from minor traces of iron, and can commonly be found with Muscovite.
  • Aquamarine had a long history of used with mankind. The first recorded use was in 400 B.C. in Greece, but has been used in many different societies for over 2000 years. 
  • In ancient lore, Aquamarine was believed to be a mermaid treasure and was used by sailors as a talisman of good luck, fearlessness, protection, eternal youth and happiness. Romans even used it to purify water.
  • Aquamarine is the traditional birthstone of March.
  • Great to use when: you’re travelling, over or near water, and when you need assistance with communication. Great for children that have been through traumatic situations or suffer from panic attacks.
  • Physically said to be stone of the breath, aiding in respiratory and sinus conditions like colds and hay-fever. Also helpful for sore throats, teeth & gums, and regulating hormones and growth.
